Q: How long has Driving School Experts been established?

Driving School Experts has been serving New Jersey residents for over a decade. Our team of veteran instructors all have over 25 years behind the wheel.

Q. Is Driving School Experts approved by the State of New Jersey?

Yes. Driving School Experts is approved in all New Jersey counties by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC).

Q: Where is Driving School Experts located?

Driving School Experts is located at 219 Cedar Drive in Bayville, NJ 08721.

Q: Are lessons private?

Yes, the best way to learn is with individualized instruction.

Q: Do the cars have dual-controlled brakes?

Yes, your safety while learning to drive is very important to us.

Q: How does car insurance work during lessons?

During lessons with Driving School Experts you are covered under our policy.

Q: We have a 16 yr. old; why must I go through a driving school?

The driving age in NJ is 17. The state of NJ has an “early bird route” that allows a student driver, at the age of 16, to drive with supervision only after they receive a minimum of 6 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction with a NJ state-certified driving school.

Q: My child has not taken the high school driver education class and has not taken the written knowledge test. What do we do?

Every new driver must pass the written knowledge test (NJ Permit Test); however, there is NO requirement for the high school course in order to get a learners permit.

Q: Can I use MY car for a road test?

Yes, you can use your car for a road test, with some stipulation. It is not required that a driving school take your child to the road test; however, you MUST have an emergency brake in the middle of the front seats IF your vehicle has a full center console. If the center console denies access to the brake pedal for an emergency stop by the inspector, you are not allowed to use that vehicle.
If you do not have a suitable vehicle, or if you would like to have Driving School Experts take your student driver to the test, we have a special road test option available on our booking page.

Q: Does Driving School Experts offer defensive driving courses?

Yes, DSE offers defensive driving course. Call our offices at 732-580-4298for more information.

Q: I’ve taken my written test and 6 hours, but I’m still not feeling confident. What can I do?

First off, you’re not alone! Driving School Experts offers additional training behind the wheel, whether you’ve trained with a different driving school or us. We offer refresher courses and have a number of options available. Feel free to call our office at 732-580-4298.

Q: What cities do you service?

We proudly service Jackson, Brick, Lacey, Barnegat, Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, Manahawkin, Toms River, Manchester and Stafford.

Q: I’m unable to make a scheduled appointment, what do I do?

Life happens! We get it. Fortunately for you, we are willing to reschedule for another available slot. Please call office or instructor directly, at least 2 hours prior to scheduled lesson.

Q: It’s the day of my road test, what should I bring?

Student driver should bring primary ID document (Acceptabled forms are Certificed Birth Certificate, PRC “Green Card”, NJ Digital ID Card, US Passport current or expired less than 3 years), Validated permit, Licensed driver with valid drivers liencse (no provisional), Proper class vehicle with current inspection sticker, valid registration and proof of insurance card, vehicle must have center hand brake or passenger “examiner” must have access to foot brake.
The State of New Jersey cannot accept a photocopy, fax copy or email copy of any document, must be original or certified copies. Absolutely No Exceptions.

Q: What happens if my permit is lost, stolen or damaged?

It is important to know, an original permit is required while practice driving and on the day of your road test! If your permit was lost or stolen, we suggest you contact your local police department to report it to avoid someone else using it and contact DSE in order to get a replacement. If it is damaged in any way, you will need a duplicate and we will be happy to help you with the paperwork. A 16-year-old must get a duplicate from their driving school.
